What a used HDK Forester is worth
In South Africa the HDK Forester trades between roughly R55 000 – R180 000 depending on year, power and condition. The offer we send is the exact figure we'll pay; the bands below show where the range comes from:
- Lithium 2- or 4-seater (2020+): R55 000 – R110 000 (e.g. Excar, HDK, LVTong, ICON, Evolution) — factory lithium holds value
- 6-seater / lifted / street kit: R90 000 – R180 000 (e.g. Any brand, 4+2 rear seat, lift kit, lights) — highest demand on estates
What we check on a Forester
Every HDK Forester we buy gets the same look in the photos, plus the things that matter on this particular model:
- Tyres and lift kit condition drive the price.
- Lithium versions are worth more.
- Charger, keys and manual — a working charger and both keys make the cart easier to resell, and our offer stronger.
- Body, seats and canopy — cracks, sun damage and torn seats all cost money to put right.
Selling your Forester: how it works
Selling an HDK Forester to WeBuyCarts takes three steps. Answer a few questions and upload five or six phone photos (about three minutes). A real buyer values it and sends a written offer within 24 hours, valid for seven days. Accept online, sign on your phone, choose a collection slot — we load it and pay by EFT before we drive away.
We collect anywhere in South Africa with our own transport, and because we refurbish and resell carts ourselves, a Forester that needs batteries or a clean-up is still worth real money to us.
Other HDK models
Not sure if yours is a Forester? Check the serial plate under the seat or the dash, or just send photos — we'll identify it. Other HDKs we buy: Express, Luxury, Sierra, Lithium 4-seater, Utility.
Questions sellers ask
How much is an HDK Forester worth?
Typically R55 000 – R180 000 for a private sale in South Africa, depending on year, power (lead-acid or lithium), seats and condition. Tyres and lift kit condition drive the price. Send photos for an exact written offer within 24 hours.
Do you buy a Forester that isn't running?
Yes. Dead batteries, charger faults, controller problems — we buy Foresters in any condition and the offer simply reflects the repair. Photograph the battery pack and tell us what's wrong.
Is a lithium Forester worth more?
Yes — factory lithium (or a documented conversion) is the single biggest value driver on a Forester. It can be worth a third more than the same cart on lead-acid, because the next owner isn't facing a new pack.
Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
We do. Non-runners are a big part of what we buy around South Africa, because we refurbish and resell carts ourselves. A cart with a tired lead-acid pack is still worth real money to us — the offer just allows for the new pack.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
