Who we are

Apex Golf Carts South Africa, trading as WeBuyCarts, 23 York Street, George, Western Cape, 6529, South Africa. Contact: hello@webuycarts.co.za. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here, and we process it in line with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act).

What we collect

• Submission details: your name, phone number, email, location, and the description and photos of the item you want to sell.
• Sale details: if you accept an offer — your legal name, id or passport number, address, and your electronic signature, plus the time, IP address and device used to sign.
• Payment details: the bank account you nominate for payment.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, and any campaign parameters in the link you arrived from.

Why we use it

• To value your item and send you an offer (this is the service you asked for).
• To conclude the sale, verify ownership, pay you, and keep the records the law requires.
• To improve our pricing: item details and photos (never your identity) are used to train and check our valuation model.
• To send you occasional tips or offers — only if you ticked the marketing box, and you can opt out any time.

Who we share it with

Service providers who host our systems (database and file storage, email delivery, AI valuation) under contract and only to provide those services; our collection drivers, who see the name, address and phone number needed for the collection; and authorities where the law requires. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with marketers.

Where it is stored

Our systems run on cloud infrastructure that may be located outside South Africa. Providers are contractually bound to protect your data to standards at least equivalent to POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act).

How long we keep it

Submissions that don't lead to a sale are kept for up to 24 months so we can honour offers and answer queries. Sale records are kept for the period required by tax and company law (five years). Photos of items we didn't buy are deleted after 24 months.

Your rights

You may ask us what personal information we hold, correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records we must keep by law), and you may object to marketing at any time. Email hello@webuycarts.co.za. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at www.justice.gov.za/inforeg.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies (for staff login) and, if enabled, privacy-friendly analytics. Your form progress is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device and is never sent to us until you submit.
