How selling at Simola works
Selling a cart on Simola is straightforward: our drivers are used to golf estate gates — let security know WeBuyCarts is collecting, or send us a visitor code with your booking. Many Simola sellers are moving house; book the collection for the week before transfer and we'll pay on the day.
Here's how it works: you send photos and answer a short form; we reply with a firm written offer within 24 hours; if you're happy, you accept and sign on your phone and pick a two-hour collection window. On the day we check the cart matches the photos, load it, and pay by EFT before we drive away.
Simola is on our home patch: our George office runs the Garden Route and Klein Karoo daily, and most collections here are done within a couple of working days of the offer being accepted.
What Simola carts are worth
Most private carts we buy at Simola fall between R40 000 – R180 000, with lithium four- and six-seaters at the top. These are typical private-sale bands (updated 2026-09-01); the offer we send is the exact figure we'll pay.
Near the sea, condition beats age. A five-year-old cart that has lived in a garage in Simola will out-price a two-year-old one that has stood outside in the salt. We look at the battery tray, the frame rails and the brake cables in your photos, and we're honest about what the sea has done.
Most of the carts we buy around Simola come off golf estates, and most of them go straight back onto one. That's the whole reason we can pay well here: there is always a family on the next street who needs a four-seater. Tell us which golf estate the cart lives on and whether it meets the golf estate's speed and lighting rules — it helps us price it exactly.
- Mainstream lead-acid (2013–2019): R40 000 – R75 000 (e.g. Club Car Precedent, E-Z-GO RXV, Yamaha Drive)
- Premium lithium 4-seater (2019+): R85 000 – R150 000 (e.g. Club Car Onward / Tempo, E-Z-GO RXV ELiTE, Yamaha Drive2)
- 6-seater / lifted / street kit: R90 000 – R180 000 (e.g. Any brand, 4+2 rear seat, lift kit, lights) — highest demand on estates
What we look at in your photos
Six phone photos are enough — front, back, both sides, the seats and the battery pack. From those we can see almost everything that sets the price:
- Charger, keys and manual — a working charger and both keys make the cart easier to resell, and our offer stronger.
- Body, seats and canopy — cracks, sun damage and torn seats all cost money to put right.
- Battery type and age — the single biggest factor. A dated invoice or a photo of the date stamp helps.
- Tyres, brakes and steering — we look at tread, brake feel and play in the steering.

Questions sellers ask
Do I need to arrange access for you at Simola?
Just let the gate or the office know WeBuyCarts is collecting on the day, or send us a visitor code with your booking. Our drivers are used to golf estate procedures.
How soon can you collect at Simola?
Usually 1–3 working days of accepting. Simola is on our home patch: our George office runs the Garden Route and Klein Karoo daily, and most collections here are done within a couple of working days of the offer being accepted.
I'm selling my Simola home — can you take the cart before transfer?
Yes, that's one of the most common reasons people sell to us. Book a collection slot before your move-out date and we'll pay on the day; the buyer of your home can start fresh with their own cart.
Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
Yes. Dead batteries, a faulty charger, a controller fault, a cart that has stood for two years — we buy all of them. The offer simply reflects the repair cost. Tell us what's wrong in the form and photograph the battery pack; that's usually all we need.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
