Selling a golf cart at Erinvale
Erinvale carts are exactly what we buy most: garaged, low-hours, usually with the extras the next owner wants. Because we resell within the same golf estate more often than not, our offers here are strong. Tell us whether the cart meets the golf estate's speed and lighting rules — that's worth money.
The process is the same wherever you are: photos and a few details from your phone, a written offer within 24 hours, then accept, sign and book a collection slot online. We arrive with our own transport and pay by EFT before we drive away. No viewings, no time-wasters, no transport to arrange.
Cape Town, the Winelands, the Overberg and the West Coast are covered by our regular Cape run, so most Erinvale collections happen within a week of you accepting.
What we pay at Erinvale
Most private carts we buy at Erinvale fall between R40 000 – R180 000, with lithium four- and six-seaters at the top. These are typical private-sale bands (updated 2026-09-01); the offer we send is the exact figure we'll pay.
Golf estate carts are our bread and butter. They tend to be low-hours, garaged and fitted with the extras the next owner wants — a rear seat, lights, a decent charger. If you're selling because you're selling the house, book the collection for the week before transfer and we'll pay on the day; the buyer of your home can start fresh with their own cart.
Wine farms and Winelands golf estates run everything from four-seat runabouts to cargo-bed utility carts. Utility carts are priced on hours and bed condition; the golf estate runabouts on batteries and extras. We buy both, and we collect from farms as happily as from golf estates.
- Mainstream lead-acid (2013–2019): R40 000 – R75 000 (e.g. Club Car Precedent, E-Z-GO RXV, Yamaha Drive)
- Premium lithium 4-seater (2019+): R85 000 – R150 000 (e.g. Club Car Onward / Tempo, E-Z-GO RXV ELiTE, Yamaha Drive2)
- 6-seater / lifted / street kit: R90 000 – R180 000 (e.g. Any brand, 4+2 rear seat, lift kit, lights) — highest demand on estates
What we look at in your photos
Six phone photos are enough — front, back, both sides, the seats and the battery pack. From those we can see almost everything that sets the price:
- Battery type and age — the single biggest factor. A dated invoice or a photo of the date stamp helps.
- Charger, keys and manual — a working charger and both keys make the cart easier to resell, and our offer stronger.
- Tyres, brakes and steering — we look at tread, brake feel and play in the steering.
- Extras — rear flip seat, lights, lift kit, sound system, enclosure. Tidy factory-style extras add real value.

Questions sellers ask
Do I need to arrange access for you at Erinvale?
Just let the gate or the office know WeBuyCarts is collecting on the day, or send us a visitor code with your booking. Our drivers are used to golf estate procedures.
How soon can you collect at Erinvale?
Usually within a week of accepting. Cape Town, the Winelands, the Overberg and the West Coast are covered by our regular Cape run, so most Erinvale collections happen within a week of you accepting.
I'm selling my Erinvale home — can you take the cart before transfer?
Yes, that's one of the most common reasons people sell to us. Book a collection slot before your move-out date and we'll pay on the day; the buyer of your home can start fresh with their own cart.
Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
Yes. Dead batteries, a faulty charger, a controller fault, a cart that has stood for two years — we buy all of them. The offer simply reflects the repair cost. Tell us what's wrong in the form and photograph the battery pack; that's usually all we need.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
