Star EV carts in Sun City
Established value brand (JH Global). Sirius and Capella are the current LSV models. Gary Player Country Club, the Lost City course and the Pilanesberg lodges — resort and lodge carts with high hours, priced on condition.
Resorts and clubs around Sun City retire fleet carts in batches, so there's a steady supply of high-hour, well-serviced units. We buy fleets and single carts; fleet units are priced on hours and body condition rather than year.
What we pay for Star EVs in Sun City
Used Star EVs in North West typically sell for R20 000 – R180 000 (private-sale bands, updated 2026-09-01). For Star EV specifically, these are the things that move the number:
- Value retention is below Club Car/Yamaha; lithium and low hours are the main price drivers.
- Older lead-acid 2-seater (2005–2012): R20 000 – R45 000 (e.g. Club Car DS / Precedent, E-Z-GO TXT, Yamaha G22) — battery age decides it
- Lithium 2- or 4-seater (2020+): R55 000 – R110 000 (e.g. Excar, HDK, LVTong, ICON, Evolution) — factory lithium holds value

Questions sellers ask
How much is a Star EV golf cart worth in Sun City?
Typically R20 000 – R180 000 in North West, depending on the model, year, battery and condition. Value retention is below Club Car/Yamaha; lithium and low hours are the main price drivers. Send photos and we'll price yours exactly, in writing, within 24 hours.
How quickly can you collect a Star EV in Sun City?
Usually within 7 days of accepting. Sun City is on our weekly Gauteng run; we confirm a collection date with the offer, usually inside a week.
Do you buy Star EVs that need batteries?
Yes — we refurbish carts, so a Star EV with a tired pack is still worth real money. The offer allows for the new pack; lithium Star EVs fetch a premium.
Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
Yes. Dead batteries, a faulty charger, a controller fault, a cart that has stood for two years — we buy all of them. The offer simply reflects the repair cost. Tell us what's wrong in the form and photograph the battery pack; that's usually all we need.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
