Selling a Star EV in Swellendam
Established value brand (JH Global). Sirius and Capella are the current LSV models. Historic Overberg town with a nine-hole course and plenty of farm utility carts, on our Cape Town–George route.
Inland carts usually have clean frames and tired batteries — the opposite of the coast. We price Swellendam carts mostly on the age and health of the pack, the state of the charger and the tyres; bodywork is rarely the problem.
What we pay for Star EVs in Swellendam
Used Star EVs in Western Cape typically sell for R20 000 – R180 000 (private-sale bands, updated 2026-09-01). For Star EV specifically, these are the things that move the number:
- Value retention is below Club Car/Yamaha; lithium and low hours are the main price drivers.
- Older lead-acid 2-seater (2005–2012): R20 000 – R45 000 (e.g. Club Car DS / Precedent, E-Z-GO TXT, Yamaha G22) — battery age decides it
- Lithium 2- or 4-seater (2020+): R55 000 – R110 000 (e.g. Excar, HDK, LVTong, ICON, Evolution) — factory lithium holds value

Questions sellers ask
How much is a Star EV golf cart worth in Swellendam?
Typically R20 000 – R180 000 in Western Cape, depending on the model, year, battery and condition. Value retention is below Club Car/Yamaha; lithium and low hours are the main price drivers. Send photos and we'll price yours exactly, in writing, within 24 hours.
How quickly can you collect a Star EV in Swellendam?
Usually 1–3 working days of accepting. Because we're based in George, Swellendam collections are quick — typically one to three working days after you accept, often sooner.
Do you buy Star EVs that need batteries?
Yes — we refurbish carts, so a Star EV with a tired pack is still worth real money. The offer allows for the new pack; lithium Star EVs fetch a premium.
Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
We do. Non-runners are a big part of what we buy around Swellendam, because we refurbish and resell carts ourselves. A cart with a tired lead-acid pack is still worth real money to us — the offer just allows for the new pack.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
