Selling a Tempo in Umhlanga
The fleet cart that replaced the Precedent, so most Tempos come to us after a few seasons at a golf club. Lithium-equipped Tempos are excellent value. Umhlanga Rocks, the Ridge and Izinga carts are a short run from our Ballito showroom.
Club Car's aluminium chassis is a genuine advantage in Umhlanga: there's no frame rust to price in, so a coastal Club Car usually beats a steel-framed cart of the same age. We still check the battery tray and cables for salt, but the bones are almost always sound.
Collections across Umhlanga are routine for us — gated complexes, golf estates, storage units, the lot. We book a two-hour window that suits you and phone ahead. If the cart lives somewhere with restricted access, a visitor code or a note at the gate is all we need.
What a Tempo is worth in Umhlanga
A clean Club Car Tempo typically sells privately for R40 000 – R150 000 in KwaZulu-Natal (updated 2026-09-01). The specifics we look at on a Tempo:
- Fleet Tempos have hours on them — condition of the seat, floor mat and body tells us more than the year.
- Lithium Tempos (ERIC charging system) are worth a clear premium over lead-acid.
- A single-owner private Tempo with a rear seat kit is a rare, well-paid find.

Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
We do. Non-runners are a big part of what we buy around Umhlanga, because we refurbish and resell carts ourselves. A cart with a tired lead-acid pack is still worth real money to us — the offer just allows for the new pack.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
