HDK owners in Yzerfontein: what your cart is worth
Large Chinese OEM behind several branded carts. Lithium 4-seaters are common on SA estates. West Coast holiday village an hour from Cape Town — beach carts and estate runabouts.
Salt air is the big one on the coast. Lead-acid battery terminals corrode, steel frames and trays rust, and cables go green — none of which stops us buying, but it does change what we pay. A Yzerfontein cart that has been rinsed and kept under cover is worth noticeably more than one left on the driveway, so a couple of photos of the battery tray and the underside help us give you our best number.
What we pay for HDKs in Yzerfontein
Used HDKs in Western Cape typically sell for R20 000 – R180 000 (private-sale bands, updated 2026-09-01). For HDK specifically, these are the things that move the number:
- Support and parts vary by importer — units from active dealers hold value better.
- Older lead-acid 2-seater (2005–2012): R20 000 – R45 000 (e.g. Club Car DS / Precedent, E-Z-GO TXT, Yamaha G22) — battery age decides it
- Lithium 2- or 4-seater (2020+): R55 000 – R110 000 (e.g. Excar, HDK, LVTong, ICON, Evolution) — factory lithium holds value

Questions sellers ask
How much is an HDK golf cart worth in Yzerfontein?
Typically R20 000 – R180 000 in Western Cape, depending on the model, year, battery and condition. Support and parts vary by importer — units from active dealers hold value better. Send photos and we'll price yours exactly, in writing, within 24 hours.
How quickly can you collect an HDK in Yzerfontein?
Usually within a week of accepting. Yzerfontein sits on our Cape run — we're in the area most weeks, and we confirm a collection date with your offer, usually within seven days.
Do you buy HDKs that need batteries?
Yes — we refurbish carts, so an HDK with a tired pack is still worth real money. The offer allows for the new pack; lithium HDKs fetch a premium.
Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
Yes. Dead batteries, a faulty charger, a controller fault, a cart that has stood for two years — we buy all of them. The offer simply reflects the repair cost. Tell us what's wrong in the form and photograph the battery pack; that's usually all we need.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
