Selling a Star EV in Zinkwazi
Established value brand (JH Global). Sirius and Capella are the current LSV models. Quiet North Coast beach villages with holiday carts, collected from Ballito.
Salt air is the big one on the coast. Lead-acid battery terminals corrode, steel frames and trays rust, and cables go green — none of which stops us buying, but it does change what we pay. A Zinkwazi cart that has been rinsed and kept under cover is worth noticeably more than one left on the driveway, so a couple of photos of the battery tray and the underside help us give you our best number.
What we pay for Star EVs in Zinkwazi
Used Star EVs in KwaZulu-Natal typically sell for R20 000 – R180 000 (private-sale bands, updated 2026-09-01). For Star EV specifically, these are the things that move the number:
- Value retention is below Club Car/Yamaha; lithium and low hours are the main price drivers.
- Older lead-acid 2-seater (2005–2012): R20 000 – R45 000 (e.g. Club Car DS / Precedent, E-Z-GO TXT, Yamaha G22) — battery age decides it
- Lithium 2- or 4-seater (2020+): R55 000 – R110 000 (e.g. Excar, HDK, LVTong, ICON, Evolution) — factory lithium holds value

How much is a Star EV golf cart worth in Zinkwazi?
Typically R20 000 – R180 000 in KwaZulu-Natal, depending on the model, year, battery and condition. Value retention is below Club Car/Yamaha; lithium and low hours are the main price drivers. Send photos and we'll price yours exactly, in writing, within 24 hours.

Usually same-day to 1 week of accepting. Our Ballito showroom covers Durban, the North Coast and the South Coast. Zinkwazi collections are usually booked within a few days of accepting — often same-day or next-day close to Ballito.
Do you buy Star EVs that need batteries?
Yes — we refurbish carts, so a Star EV with a tired pack is still worth real money. The offer allows for the new pack; lithium Star EVs fetch a premium.
Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
We do. Non-runners are a big part of what we buy around Zinkwazi, because we refurbish and resell carts ourselves. A cart with a tired lead-acid pack is still worth real money to us — the offer just allows for the new pack.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
