Selling an ICON in Wilderness
The fastest-growing value brand in the US. Street-legal (LSV) from the factory with lithium options — depreciation is steeper than Club Car but demand is huge in Florida communities. Minutes from our George office. We collect from the village, the lakes and Kleinkrantz on the same day where we can.
Salt air is the big one on the coast. Lead-acid battery terminals corrode, steel frames and trays rust, and cables go green — none of which stops us buying, but it does change what we pay. A Wilderness cart that has been rinsed and kept under cover is worth noticeably more than one left on the driveway, so a couple of photos of the battery tray and the underside help us give you our best number.
What we pay for ICONs in Wilderness
Used ICONs in Western Cape typically sell for R55 000 – R180 000 (private-sale bands, updated 2026-09-01). For ICON specifically, these are the things that move the number:
- Street-legal LSV package (lights, mirrors, seatbelts, VIN) is standard — a plus for community buyers.
- Lithium models (2022+) hold value much better than early lead-acid i40s.
- Expect 30–40% depreciation in the first two years, then a flatter curve.
- Lithium 2- or 4-seater (2020+): R55 000 – R110 000 (e.g. Excar, HDK, LVTong, ICON, Evolution) — factory lithium holds value
- 6-seater / lifted / street kit: R90 000 – R180 000 (e.g. Any brand, 4+2 rear seat, lift kit, lights) — highest demand on estates

Questions sellers ask
How much is an ICON golf cart worth in Wilderness?
Typically R55 000 – R180 000 in Western Cape, depending on the model, year, battery and condition. Street-legal LSV package (lights, mirrors, seatbelts, VIN) is standard — a plus for community buyers. Send photos and we'll price yours exactly, in writing, within 24 hours.
How quickly can you collect an ICON in Wilderness?
Usually 1–3 working days of accepting. Because we're based in George, Wilderness collections are quick — typically one to three working days after you accept, often sooner.
Do you buy ICONs that need batteries?
Yes — we refurbish carts, so an ICON with a tired pack is still worth real money. The offer allows for the new pack; lithium ICONs fetch a premium.
Do you buy golf carts that aren't running?
We do. Non-runners are a big part of what we buy around Wilderness, because we refurbish and resell carts ourselves. A cart with a tired lead-acid pack is still worth real money to us — the offer just allows for the new pack.
Is the offer really free, and do I have to accept it?
Yes and no. The offer is free and there's no obligation at all — it's a firm number, valid for seven days, and you can accept, counter or walk away. We'd rather you took our number to compare than felt pressured.
What do I need on the day of collection?
Your ID, the charger and keys, and the cart where we can load it. We check that it matches your photos, sign off the sale agreement you already signed on your phone, and pay by EFT before we drive away. If the cart lives behind a gate, let security know we're coming or send us a visitor code with your booking.
